Here's what you need to get your Washington Real Estate license

Online Info

  1. Comply with the General Washington Real Estate License Requirements:
    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Have your high school diploma or equivalent in order to receive your real estate license in Washington.
  2. Meet the Educational Real Estate License Requirements in Washington:
    • Complete 90 hours of approved real estate education within the 2 years before applying for the exam.
    • This education must include:
      • A 60-hour course in Real Estate Fundamentals.
      • A 30-hour course in Real Estate Practices
    • The real estate license education requirements will be waived for qualified applicants currently licensed in another state.
  3. Pass a background check to get your Washington real estate license.
    • Be ready to answer Criminal history questions and provide documents if needed.
    • Submit fingerprints for a background check when you apply for your initial license and every 6 years afterward.
  4. Take the Washington real estate license exam.
    • The Washington real estate license exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions in the National Broker Section and 30 multiple-choice questions at a State Broker Section.
    • You will get 3.5 hours to complete an exam.
  5. File your Washington real estate license application online.
    • Complete the Washington real estate license application through the Department of Licensing's online system.

Managing Broker – the school does not submit student completions to AMP/PSI. The student must submit to DOL, DOL will process and give the student permission/letter to sit for the exam. Once the student gets the letter – they can schedule with PSI.
